Mr. Bayliss joined the firm in 1995 after ten years of service with the Minnesota Attorney General's Office, where he was an Assistant Attorney General in the Tort Claims Division and the Employment Law Division. Since joining the firm he has practiced primarily in the area of insurance defense law, including vehicle liability, premises liability, construction accident liability, and government liability. He was chair of the firm’s insurance defense practice group from 1999-2004. Mr. Bayliss has spent most of his more than twenty years of practice defending civil lawsuits and has tried cases to juries in counties throughout Minnesota, including Hennepin, Stearns, Kandiyohi, Dakota, St. Louis, Crow Wing, Mille Lacs, and Wright counties. In 2000 Mr. Bayliss chaired the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section, an association of over 1,000 Minnesota attorneys who practice in the area of civil litigation. Mr. Bayliss is a frequent lecturer on topics related to civil litigation.
