Mr. Spellacy was born in Grand Rapids, MN in 1951. He became a shareholder in the firm in 1984. Mr. Spellacy practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, and litigation involving trusts and estates. He represents individuals, families, and fiduciaries. Mr. Spellacy has over 30 years of litigation experience including the representation of businesses, individuals and professionals and brings this experience to trusts and estate litigation, and the representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries in probate and trust proceedings. He has a broad estate planning practice which includes basic plans, marital deduction federal and Minnesota estate tax plan trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, other types of irrevocable trusts for family gifting purposes, charitable remainder trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, S corp trust planning, estate, gift, and generation skipping tax planning, IRA and other retirement account distribution planning, qualified personal residence trusts, antenuptial and postnuptial agreements, supplemental and special needs trusts and trust and estate law.
